After roughly a day and a half, Fortnite's black hole is over.
While we're still not sure what Fortnite is brewing up, gamers at least had memes to help soften the blow. Since Sunday afternoon, players eager to enter the game's virtual world to fight one another have instead been confronted by a blank screen with a black hole at its center. The game's Instagram account shows the same. On Sunday evening, moments after a live event, Fortnite players stared at a black hole.
Dr Lupo is the only streamer now visible in the live stream, though the Twitch stream shows he's also playing with a number of other streamers: "DrLupo is Squad Streaming with CouRageJD, SypherPK, JordanFisher".

Called "The End", the event started with a rocket launch, which escalated until the entire game map - the "Battle Royale Island" - shrank into a distant black hole. I'm not surprised to see there be downtime here, and I'm glad we'll be getting the new season so soon.
Overnight, millions of Fortnite fans were left in the dark after the hugely popular game appeared to have been sucked into a freaky black hole.
Fortnite Season 10 ended with a The End event. In that case, Epic Games seems to be planning something big - a completely new map and gameplay style no one would have imagined. The fact of the matter is that whatever Epic Games has up its sleeve, it's working in terms of publicity and attention.
