Kanye West left inmates in tears when he performed a surprise concert at the Harris County Jail in Houston, Texas.

However, the Church's Sunday service also has an 11:00 a.m. service, wherein Kanye will be walking to the pulpit and will have a short talk with Joel.

West, who has spoken at length in recent months about his faith, went on to share despite "all of that arrogance and cockiness that y'all have seen from me" in the past, "God is now using him".

Video of the performance has been shared online, which shows several inmates overcome with emotion as the Hip-Hop icon performs hits from his gospel-themed Jesus is King album. The "Sunday Services" characteristic good song, and no preaching, but respect a "Christian vibe", West's wife, Kim Kardashian, stated in an April interview with Elle magazine. The free tickets sold out in less than 15 minutes.

The rapper is set to bring Sunday Service to Texas this weekend at Joel Osteen's church.

Jesus is King album has garnered mixed reactions from many critics, but, Kanye West himself has been received well with a majority of gospel stars such Lecrae, Bishop Marvin Sapp, Andy Mineo and other personalities. He will maintain his "Sunday Company" effectiveness inside of the church later that evening.

"What Kanye West does to encourage the incarcerated is transformative", Abbott said.

But West's trademark boastfulness hasn't completely disappeared.

"This is a mission, not a show", West reportedly told his jailhouse audience. Styles are different. But we're still brothers in Christ.

"So we get constant advertisements for spirits", he said.

Lakewood Church, where more than 43,000 people attend services each week, has become the largest church in the U.S. It holds services at the former Compaq Center, which was once the home of the Houston Rockets.
