Doctor says Trump's trip to Walter Reed was 'routine'

Democrats responded sceptically on Monday to President Donald Trump's declaration that he might be willing to testify in his impeachment inquiry and also said they were examining the truthfulness of his testimony in the Russian Federation 2016 election interference probe.

In the afternoon Kurt Volker, the former special U.S. envoy to Ukraine, and National Security Council official Timothy Morrison will testify.

What time does the hearings start?

Early in the hearing, it appeared that Mr. Trump was leaving the pushback to White House aides and his campaign team.

How can I watch the hearing?

Diplomat David Holmes will testify on Thursday, the House Intelligence Committee said.

What is the hearing's schedule and format?

Vindman was testifying that he spoke to two people about providing a read out of the July 25 call.

In response to questions from California Rep. Devin Nunes, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, Vindman testified he would not answer on the advice of his lawyer and the recommendation by the committee's chairman, Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff.

Democrats denounced what they saw as witness intimidation by the president.

Jackson also revealed that Trump underwent a coronary calcium CT scan as part of his routine physical exam. Trump's score was recorded as 133, and Gupta noted at the time that anything over 100 indicates plaque is present and that the patient has heart disease.

Additional rounds of questioning are possible.

Asked about the tweet, Vice President Mike Pence's spokeswoman said only: "Jennifer is a State Department employee".

The Democrat-led House Intelligence Committee is proceeding with an impeachment inquiry into Trump's dealings with Ukraine. Williams also listened to a second call between Pence and Zelensky, which took place on September 18 after the hold on security assistance was lifted.

Rather than engaging in a long court battle to force the testimony, Democrats have suggested they will simply consider adding obstruction of the investigation to the charges against Trump and push ahead toward a vote on impeachment by the full House.

"Ranking member, it's Lt. Col. Vindman, please".

"The real Donald Trump is getting exposed for what he's done, and that's what's driving him to the doctor", Rahm Emanuel, a former Clinton aide and Chicago mayor, said Sunday on ABC's "This Week".

Vindman says he told Sondland that the request for investigations was inappropriate and had nothing to do with national security policy.

"You know, De Tocqueville in 1853 wrote that if a nation was more and more often using ... impeachment as a way of actually removing its leaders, it would show the deterioration of the nation", he said.

Trump has repeatedly denied wrongdoing and raged on Twitter against what he calls "a witch hunt" and a "hoax".

Morrison testified that he had concerns the July 25 call would leak, but he did not see anything wrong or illegal in the content of the call.

Still, Volker's testimony also provided Trump and his allies with fodder, as they've been pushing for it to be released publicly. Volker testified that US and Ukrainian officials in the meeting did not discuss any investigations. Grisham said after the visit that the president had gotten "a quick exam and labs". Morrison is a former senior NSC official.
