The impeachment trial against Donald Trump is not just a "witch hunt", but a ploy to "rig" the Democratic nomination against Bernie Sanders and in favor of Joe Biden, the USA president has claimed. Elizabeth Warren-a new national poll shows Sen.

The exchange was interrupted by fellow candidate and environmentalist Tom Steyer, who said, "I don't want to get in the middle of it" and greeted Mr Sanders as the senator walked away.

Asked Wednesday if they had any comment on the audio released by CNN, Warren campaign communications director Kristen Orthman responded, "We do not".

"I think you called me a liar on national TV", Warren says to Sanders in the recorded audio.

"I think you called me a liar on national TV", she says.

Sanders: "Let's not do it right now".

We're now on Day 4 of the Elizabeth Warren-Bernie Sanders feud news cycle, and Samantha Bee is one hundred percent over it.

Sanders: "You called me a liar?"

After Tuesday's Warren-Sanders fracas, supporters on both sides vented their fury, prompting Sanders's wife Jane Sanders to personally appeal for a ceasefire.

"See some inaccurate information going on up here, so let's just dispatch with that real quick", Buttigieg said, reading the signs, and added "I've taken the fossil fuel pledge, and I am determined to bring about solutions on climate change". Anybody who knows me knows it is incomprehensible that I would think that a woman could not be president of the United States, ' the Vermont senator said in the debate.

"Among the topics that came up was what would happen if Democrats nominated a female candidate", Warren said in the statement on Monday evening, recalling the meeting. "We have worked together in the Senate for years".

The diverging accounts of what was said behind closed doors at Warren's Washington apartment between the two standard-bearers of the left wing of the Democratic Party rippled across social media. The hashtag "Women for Bernie" trended on Twitter and the campaign said it raised an astonishing $1.7 million in the hours after the debate.

Sanders said: "You called me a liar. If we make enemies of each other now, the fight won't be about if a woman can ever be president, it will be about if anyone else will ever be president again".

The spat threatens to sidetrack Sanders' recent momentum just as he had begun to rise in opinion polls of the Democratic race to find a challenger to Republican President Donald Trump.

The unexpectedly fierce spat has shone a spotlight on uncomfortable questions: can a woman win the presidency against Trump in 2020, and does sexism persist in American politics in the aftermath of the #MeToo movement? But days before the vote, President George W. Bush said, "I hope this will not require military action, but it may". "Look at the men on the stage - collectively they've lost 10 elections", she added.
