NBA Legend Kobe Bryant was reported dead this morning from a helicopter plane crash near Calabasas in Los Angeles.

"Kobe was not only an icon in the sports arena, he was a man of the world and touched so many lives and communities in the most positive ways".

He was 41 years old.

The nation mourns Bryant's death.

On Twitter, current and former National Basketball Association players shared their disbelief in learning that Bryant had died. The crash happened around 10 a.m. Sunday about 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Tony Imbrenda said he didn't immediately have any information about whether the Sikorsky S-76 helicopter radioed a distress signal.
