Bryant was accused in 2003 of raping a 19-year-old employee at a Colorado resort.

The Camas School District's superintendent, Jeff Snell, says police found no evidence the gun threat was real, adding that it started among students on a school bus speculating about threats.

The 41-year-old basketball legend and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna were among the nine people who perished when Bryant's private helicopter crashed in Calabasas on January 26, and it has now been confirmed he will be honored within the In Memoriam section of the Oscars this weekend.

"As a career educator, the only adult job I've ever had for 22 years, we try to teach kids to think before they act, think before they speak, think before they post".

The post, which has since been deleted, ended with a shrug emoji. "While what I wrote was posted on a private Facebook account to people who are my friends and was quickly removed, I acknowledge that private does not always mean private", she continued.

Sejkora later apologized in a letter to parents of the school.

Sejkora wrote later January 26 that she deleted her controversial post "because the comments missed my intent". Bryant released a statement, negotiated by lawyers, in which he recognized the woman did not view their sexual encounter as consensual and later settled a civil lawsuit with the woman.

CNN reported that Sejkora has been placed on administrative leave for the time being, although the principal has been vocal about her desire to keep her job.

She said in a message to families Monday that she wanted "to apologize for suggesting that a person's death is deserved". It was inappropriate and tasteless.

"In education, we remind students to think before they post online, especially when feelings are inflamed". "Even if there's a few times that we've been at a club at the same time, Kobe's not the kind of guy, never been, like, 'Lis, go get that girl, or tell her, or send her this.' I have other National Basketball Association friends that are like that".

Thomas also played the 16th hole at the Phoenix Open wearing Bryant's No. 33 jersey from Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.

"I've learned an important lesson and I hope that I can earn your trust back", her email concluded. The student, who believes public figures should set exemplary standards, wants Sejkora to resign.

"I have some personal experience that generated the visceral reaction", she said.
